Circulation of mathematics in and through newspapers: history, territories and publics
At a time when the forms of communication in mathematics are deeply disrupted and require a restructuring of the system as it had developed since the end of the 17th century, it is enlightening to analyze on various scales the different modes of communication. circulation that operated until the end of the 20th century.
The objective of the Cirmath project is to study over time and in diverse geographical areas, bringing together the main countries in which we can identify a significant mathematical activity, the circulation of mathematics in and through newspapers, between different territories and various environments (academics, teachers, engineers, military, amateurs ...).
